Set Your Specialties
Each specialty brings its own physical exam and normal findings, from general practice to equine. Choose yours and the SOAP Note’s Objective section is written for it.
Step 1: Open the SOAP Note template
- 1Open Templates in the app.
- 2Under Built-in, choose SOAP Note.
Step 2: Choose your specialty
- 1In the Objective section, choose Specialty: ….
- 2Pick your specialty, for example General Practice, Emergency, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Dentistry, Orthopedic, Dermatology, Cardiology, Equine, Neurology or Behavioral.
- 3Your SOAP notes now use that specialty’s physical exam. You can also switch it from the specialty chip at the top of the app.
Step 3: Set that specialty’s normal findings
Normal findings are kept for each specialty. Edit them right below the specialty, then choose how normals are written. See Objective normals.
Need different sections for your specialty?
Choose Duplicate to Edit on the SOAP Note. It copies this specialty’s physical exam and your normal findings into your own template, where you can change every section. See Build a custom template.
Tip: Recording for another vet? The note starts from that vet’s default template, specialty and language. Explore specialties.
